UI/UX Designer

About the Role

Design intuitive, beautiful digital experiences for users across Africa. Create interfaces that work across diverse devices, network conditions, and cultural contexts.

What You'll Do

• ▸ Create user interfaces for web and mobile applications
• ▸ Design responsive, mobile-first layouts
• ▸ Build and maintain design systems and component libraries
• ▸ Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups
• ▸ Conduct usability testing with diverse user groups
• ▸ Design for accessibility and inclusive experiences
• ▸ Collaborate with developers on design implementation
• ▸ Support multi-language and RTL layout requirements

What We're Looking For

• ▸ 3+ years UI/UX design experience
• ▸ Expert proficiency in Figma
• ▸ Strong understanding of design systems and component-based design
• ▸ Experience with responsive and mobile-first design
• ▸ Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1)
• ▸ Understanding of front-end capabilities and constraints
• ▸ Portfolio demonstrating diverse design work
• ▸ Excellent visual design skills and attention to detail

Nice to Have

• ▸ Experience designing for African user contexts
• ▸ Knowledge of HTML/CSS
• ▸ Experience with motion design
• ▸ Familiarity with design for low-bandwidth environments
