Frontend Engineer

About the Role

Create beautiful, performant user interfaces that work across diverse African network conditions. Build responsive, accessible web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks.

What You'll Do

• ▸ Build responsive web applications using React and TypeScript
• ▸ Implement pixel-perfect designs from Figma mockups
• ▸ Optimize performance for low-bandwidth connections
• ▸ Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility
• ▸ Write unit and integration tests using Jest and Testing Library
• ▸ Collaborate with UX designers on interaction patterns
• ▸ Implement accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1)
• ▸ Manage state with Redux, Zustand, or similar tools

What We're Looking For

• ▸ 3+ years frontend development experience
• ▸ Expert knowledge of React and TypeScript
• ▸ Strong CSS/SCSS skills including responsive design
• ▸ Experience with frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite)
• ▸ Understanding of web performance optimization
• ▸ Knowledge of accessibility standards
• ▸ Experience with Git version control
• ▸ Eye for design and attention to detail

Nice to Have

• ▸ Experience with Next.js or Gatsby
• ▸ Knowledge of animation libraries (Framer Motion, GSAP)
• ▸ Experience with design systems
• ▸ Familiarity with mobile-first development for African markets
