About the Role

Build and deploy machine learning models that solve real problems for African businesses and communities. From credit scoring to demand forecasting, your models will drive impact across the continent.

What You'll Do

• ▸ Design, train, and deploy ML models for production
• ▸ Build data pipelines for model training and inference
• ▸ Develop NLP solutions for African languages
• ▸ Implement computer vision solutions for KYC and agriculture
• ▸ Optimize models for edge deployment and low-resource environments
• ▸ Build A/B testing frameworks for model evaluation
• ▸ Create APIs for model serving and monitoring
• ▸ Collaborate with data engineers and product teams

What We're Looking For

• ▸ 3+ years ML engineering experience
• ▸ Strong Python skills with TensorFlow or PyTorch
• ▸ Experience with ML deployment (MLflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI)
• ▸ Knowledge of NLP, computer vision, or time series analysis
• ▸ Experience with data processing frameworks (Spark, Dask)
• ▸ Understanding of ML ops and model monitoring
• ▸ Strong mathematical and statistical foundations
• ▸ Experience with cloud ML services

Nice to Have

• ▸ Experience with African language NLP
• ▸ Knowledge of federated learning or edge ML
• ▸ Publications or conference presentations
• ▸ Experience with LLM integration and prompt engineering
