Security Engineer

About the Role

Protect ANED's clients and systems from cyber threats. Build security into every layer of the technology stack, with expertise in Africa-specific threat landscapes.

What You'll Do

• ▸ Conduct security assessments and code reviews
• ▸ Implement security controls and monitoring systems
• ▸ Design secure architectures for client applications
• ▸ Manage vulnerability scanning and remediation
• ▸ Implement identity and access management solutions
• ▸ Build security automation and tooling
• ▸ Respond to security incidents and conduct forensics
• ▸ Ensure compliance with African data protection regulations

What We're Looking For

• ▸ 4+ years security engineering experience
• ▸ Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and common vulnerabilities
• ▸ Experience with security tools (Burp Suite, Nessus, SIEM)
• ▸ Understanding of cloud security (AWS/Azure security services)
• ▸ Knowledge of encryption, PKI, and authentication protocols
• ▸ Experience with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC2)
• ▸ Strong knowledge of networking and system security
• ▸ Relevant certifications (CEH, OSCP, or equivalent)

Nice to Have

• ▸ Experience with African regulatory frameworks (POPIA, NDPR, CBK)
• ▸ Knowledge of mobile money and fintech security
• ▸ Experience with threat modeling
• ▸ Familiarity with USSD and SMS security
